Partners Administration
Administrate Partner Categories | Submit a New Partner | Administrate Partners Administrate Pages
The idea behind this module is to create a list of what we refer to as partners and there contact information.
Partners are basically, all types of business affiliates, sponsors and anyone else that you want associated with the
business that your web site does. Clicking on "Partners Administration" in the "Admin Suite" will take you to the
window shown below.

The first section we should explore is "Administrate Partner Categories". Click on
it to be taken to the window shown below.
Administrate Partner Categories

From this window you can both add new categories as well as edit existing ones. To insert a new category, type in a
name for the new category in the top "Name" field, type a short description about the people/companies that are
contained in this category in the "Description" text area and then click the "Insert" button when you are done
with these two fields.
To edit any of the existing categories you can just change the text contained in the text fields for that entry. You
can also make this category inactive (meaning it will not appear on the front end of the site) by selecting the "No"
radio button under the "Active" heading. When you have made any changes to a category, don't forget to click
"Update"!!!! If you would like to remove one of the categories you can do so by clicking on the "Delete" button
to the far right of the category information.
When you are done adding and editing your partner categories, click on "Partner" to return to the main partner
administration menu.

The next option is "Submit a New Partner", which when clicked on takes you to the window
shown below.
Submit a New Partner

To add a new partner first enter in the name of the person or company in the "Name" field. Next you want to select
what category they appear in with the "Category" pull-down list and what you want the status of this partner to be
with the status pull-down list (keep in mind the partner must be approved to appear on the front end of the site).
Next you want to put the URL of the partner's web site or some other web link that is associated with this partner
(if one exists at all).
The "Show URL" and "Show Profile" specify whether or not you would like the URL and profile links present in the
listing of all the partners. The "Description" text box is a lead-in to the partner that will be shown on the
partner list. The "Content" text field is the more complete description of this partner's place in your business,
such as what services and resources the partner supplies to you or your industry.
Most companies or independent associates will have some sort of logo, if you have a copy of a logo in an image
file you can upload it by clicking on the "Browse" button next to the "Upload Logo" option, choosing the image
file from the file chooser that appears and then clicking "Open" in the file chooser window.
Finally, if you are familiar with HTML you can select "Yes" for the "Allow HTML" option. This allows you
to enter HTML code in this page’s text fields. If you don't want to put in HTML then select "No" and your
text will be properly formatted.
When you are finished, don't forget to click "Update"!!!! If at any point you decide you want to start over,
you can click on the "Reset" button at the bottom of the page to return all the fields. Click on "Partner" when you
are done in this window to return to "Partners Administration".

The next option we will explore is "Administrate Partners". Click on this link and you will be directed to the window shown below.
Administrate Partners

The first option in this section is the "Partner Alias" fields. This option is for someone who doesn't want to use
the term partner for this section of their site. For example, perhaps someone only had sponsors in this section,
then they would want to change the "Singular" alias to "Sponsor" and the "Plural" alias to "Sponsors". Next you are
given two pull-down lists that allow you to specify which partners you wanted listed by approval status and topic
(category).
Next there is a list of the partners that meet your specified requirements. There is an "ID", which is the integer ID
for that partner, "Partner", which is the name of the person or company that this record is about. The is also a "URL"
column, which displays the URL associated with this partner. The status of a partner is indicated by a highlighted checkmark
if it is approved, a highlighted x-mark if it is rejected and a highlighted question
mark if it is pending. To switch between the three states you can click on one of the darkened
two buttons. Keep in mind that a partner must be approved to appear on the front-end of your site.
If you would like to change a partner's profile, you can do so by clicking on the "Edit" button to the right of the
partner listing. This will direct you to the window shown below.

From this window, you can change all the same details you entered when you created this partner profile with a few
extra features. You can also change the approval status of this profile from this window using the "Status" pull-down
list. If you don't like the logo that is currently uploaded or you don't want a logo anymore, click on the "Delete Logo /
Use a Different Logo" link near the bottom of the page.
When you are finished editing this profile, don't forget to click "Update"!!! If at any point you want to restart
your profile entry, you can click on "Reset" and all the fields will be returned to their saved values. Also, if you would like to delete this
profile you can do so from this window by clicking on "Delete Partner". Once you are finished with this partner profile,
click "Admin Partner". Finally, you can also delete a partner profile from this window by clicking on the "Delete" button
to the far right of the profile listing.
When you are done administrating partner profiles, you can return to "Partners Administration" by clicking on "Partner"
in the top left of the window.

The last option in "Partners Administration" is "Administrate Pages".
Administrate Pages
The idea behind this window is to make changes to the format of the partner pages. If you need to make any changes, click
on the appropriate "Edit" button, which will take you to the window shown below.

The two options (page name and title image) are for naming your page and you should choose one of them.
If you prefer to have an image for the title instead of the text for the page, you can click on the "Browse"
button and choose an image from your hard drive.
Note that a title image replaces the "Page Name" in the page content, but not on the window title.
Next you need to type your "Meta tags".
What is a Meta Tag?
"Area Content" is the next option. This is the basic text that appears in the page you have selected.
Finally, if you are familiar with HTML you can select "Yes" for the "Allow HTML" option. This allows you
to enter HTML code in this page’s text fields. If you don't want to put in HTML then select "No" and your
text will be properly formatted.
When you entered all your information, don't forget to click submit!!!!!
Once you are done changing the page setup you can either click on "Page List" to edit the page setup
of the other pages in this module or you can click on "Admin Suite".
