Advertising Suite

Administrate Advertisers | Administrate Ads | Administrate Campaigns | Administrate Pages

The logic behind the "Advertising Suite" is that you can control, edit, reject, delete and approve advertisements and advertisers. As an administrator, you cannot make any advertisements in the "Advertising Suite".

By clicking on "Advertiser Administration" in Admin suite, you open the new window you see below.

Administrate Advertisers

This is the first choice in the window shown above. By clicking on "Administrate Advertisers", you can approve or reject an advertiser, or set an advertiser's status to pending. As you can see:

The checkmark is for approving, the question mark is for pending and the x-mark is for rejecting an advertiser.

= approved = rejected = pending

You can see the advertiser below has been set to pending by an administrator, and therefore cannot be shown on the front end of your site.

Administrate Ads

This is the second option in "Advertising Suite". In this part you can edit, delete and view an advertisement, and change it’s status to either approved, pending or rejected.

If you wish to edit an advertisement, you can do so by clicking on the "Edit" button to the right. You will be directed to the window below.

The first option in this window is "Ad Name"; if you wish to change the name you can do so by typing the new name here.

The second option is "Ad owner" which you cannot change.

The third option you can see is an "Ad Type" dropdown list. "GIF" is the default format; the other two are "JPEG" and "FLASH MOVIE".

The fourth option is an "Ad Size" dropdown list which allows you to specify a different size for the ad.

What is "JPEG"? A JPEG (pronounced JAY-peg) is a graphic image file created by choosing from a range of compression qualities (actually, from one of a suite of compression algorithms).

What is "GIF"? The GIF (the original and preferred pronunciation is DJIF; it stands for Graphics Interchange Format) is one of the two most common file formats for graphic images on the World Wide Web.

What is "FLASH MOVIE"? Flash, a popular authoring software developed by Macromedia, is used to create vector graphics-based animation programs with full-screen navigation interfaces, graphic illustrations, and simple interactivity in an antialiased, resizable file format that is small enough to stream across a normal modem connection.  It is basically a short, animated movie.

The fifth option is "URL". You can specify a particular URL address for your ad. By clicking on your ad, you will be directed to that URL address.

What is "URL"? A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) (pronounced YU-AHR-EHL or, in some quarters, UHRL) is the address of a file (resource) accessible on the Internet.

The sixth option is "Alt tag". You can enter a small piece of  information about your ad in this box. Whenever you leave your cursor over the ad without clicking it, this information will appear.

Whenever you make any changes, do not forget to "Submit" your changes!!

If you would like to view your changes, click on "Administrate Ads" in the top left corner. It is the third option. This link will take you back to the previous window where you can then click "View" to see the changes. If you wish to delete the ad, you can do so by clicking the "Delete" button.

Do not forget to refresh your window after deleting the ad!!!!!

This is the third option in the "Advertising Suite".

In this window, you can set up ad campaigns and you can choose an advertiser’s ad from a dropdown list.

You can edit or delete an advertising campaign. If you wish to "Edit" the set up for a campaign, you can do so by clicking on this option and you will be directed to another window like the one below.

In this window, you can see the campaign name and you can choose from three different types of campaigns by selecting the appropriate option button.

Clicks: This campaign will run until the ads is clicked on a specific number of times You can specify the number of clicks for each ad.

Impression: This campaign will run until the ads in it receive a specified number of impressions  Impressions are the number  of times an ad shows up on your site.  You can specify the number of  impressions.

Campaign Cost: You can specify the cost for this campaign depending on ads and campaign length.

Do not forget to hit the "Update Campaign" button!!!!!!

In the end, you can add the available advertisements to "Ads In Campaign" or remove them. If you wish to go back to previous window, you can click on "Administrate Campaigns" If you wish to go back to the Advertising Suite, you can click on this option in the top left corner of your screen.
